The Knit Wits had their fourth annual Troop Support Baby Shower on February 18 and it was a huge success. Barb Carter talked with the group about her efforts with the VA and shared how much the shower gifts are appreciated by recipients. Each recipient receives a bushel basket of goodies for their new family addition. The Knit Wits contributed handmade baby blankets, sweaters and hats as well as purchased baby items. Joan Hansen is the Knit Wit coordinator for this project.
Also during February Jonelle, from Southwest Trading Company in Phoenix, visited the Knit Wits. She shared information about her shop, supplies and classes. One of her instructors accompanied her and taught a class on knitting a sideways tee shirt using tofutsie sock yarn.
As you can see the Knit Wits are busy with many activities. If you would like to join us we meet every Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the HOA 1 Arts and Crafts Center in rooms three and four.
