On June 15 the Jewish Friendship Group held its annual Father’s Day BBQ at HOA 1 with our traditional ribs and chicken with coleslaw and beans, finishing with ice cream sundaes. As usual, before, during and after dinner there was plenty of conversation making for another wonderful evening for all.
Happy Hour returns on August 11 at 5:00 p.m. at Agave Lounge at HOA 1 with a pizza and salad buffet. Cost per person is $13 inclusive of tax and tip. Please send checks by August 3 to Steve Grabell, 37393 S. Golf Course Drive.
This event, originally scheduled for later in the month at the Hacienda del Sol, had to be changed due to construction taking place at that time at the venue.
August 2 at 10:30 a.m. is the next Ladies’ Coffee at the home of Lorna Michelson, 62090 E. Northwood, co-hosted by Kate Grinnell.
Please RSVP to Kate Grinnell at 369-4495 or [email protected] by July 27.
The June Ladies’ Coffee was hosted by Diane Korn and Linda Rein at Diane’s lovely home where drinks were served by her new bronze butler Jeeves (aka Carson). Thanks, ladies, for the lovely morning and the great food!
For the Co-Ed Book Club, it’s the time of year that we all look forward to: Book Selection Time. Sandy Epstein is collecting titles that you think the group would enjoy reading and discussing in the coming year. A few books have already been suggested for consideration but more are needed on the ballot. We are looking for a variety of books this year so when you suggest titles think about both fiction and non-fiction, novels and short stories, American and foreign authors, contemporary and historical themes and settings, biographies and memoirs. Our goal is to read books that have a Jewish connection and lend themselves to great discussion.
Please email your titles to Sandy at [email protected] or mail them to 13255 Kerry Lane, Eden Prairie, Minnesota 55346. And in July look forward to seeing the 2016-17 book ballot and voting.
Would you like to be more involved in the JFG? We are looking for volunteers to be on the Potluck Committee, headed by Faith Fromson. The JFG holds two potlucks a year, in fall and early winter; we are looking for people to help out on the day for set up/tear down. It is not very time consuming and you would be working with your friends. If you are a snowbird, feel free to serve for the winter potluck. The biggest plus is that the volunteers get to access the buffet first! Now that is a real perk. To be a volunteer, please contact Faith Fromson at 818 1154 or [email protected].
We count on your support and encourage you to join our regular activities, which are solely intended to encourage and enable the extension of Jewish friendships throughout SaddleBrooke. Please make your suggestions known to Steve or Sy.
For further information about the JFG, please contact Co-Presidents Steve Grabell at [email protected] (520-825-4159) or Sy Efron at [email protected] (520-825-7047).
