Mark your calendars and tell your friends—the upcoming 2024 events at the Jewish Friendship Group (JFG) have something for everyone—or, more likely, everything for everybody. If your friends are not members, all it takes is $21 per person and a desire to belong to a warm and inclusive group. Don’t worry, we will send plenty of reminders as the actual event gets closer.
Thursday, Aug. 22, Happy Hour at the MountainView Bar, 4 p.m.: This is a simple “show up and hang out.” Drink or eat at your own discretion. Witty and interesting conversation is on the menu. This is a joint event with B’nai Midbar.
Sunday, Sept. 22, Ice Cream Social: This members-only event will be at the home of Jeffrey and Eileen Zelmanow. Relive your childhood dream of eating as many ice cream sundaes or root beer floats as you want without anyone telling you no! It starts at 6 p.m. Please bring your own chairs. There is a $5 per person non-refundable fee due by Sept. 14.
Saturday, Oct. 12, BreakFast: This is an Open House between 5 and 8:30 p.m. at the home of Steve and Sandy Rosen. The cost is $20 per person for members and $25 per person for non-members. RSVP with payment by Sept. 30.
Wednesday, Oct. 30, Potluck Social: This year’s event will be an Italian-themed buffet. Given the culinary skills of the SaddleBrooke One chefs and our own members, this promises to be a food lover’s paradise. RSVP by Oct. 23 and indicate what delicious dish you will bring.
November Make Your Own Pizza (date TBD): While we don’t have the exact details (scheduling for the fall when it’s 103 degrees is challenging), we know tossing pizza dough in the air is going to be fun. This will replace November’s Ladies Coffee.
Tuesday, Dec. 17, Chanukah Party and Gifts for Children’s Hospital: Details will be forthcoming. See note above.
We hope you join us for these events. And if you are not a member, we hope you consider joining us. We look forward to welcoming you. For additional information or questions about these events or the Jewish Friendship Group, please reach out to either Sandy Rosen at [email protected] or Eileen Zelmanow at [email protected].
