It’s 2024, and SaddleBrooke 18-Holers Are Rarin’ to Go

Ellen Avenoso

The new SaddleBrooke Women’s Golf Association (SBWGA) Board of Directors has been sworn in, tournament schedules announced, and the 18-holers are off to a quick start with a busy tournament line-up. Upcoming, the first of our majors will be the Presidents Cup, which will run from Feb. 6 through Feb. 22. (Followed, of course, by a celebratory party! This group knows how to have fun!)

We have eight new members. Sue Dischner, Lynn Wenzel, and Karen Thibodeau were at our first luncheon/meeting of 2024, and they were introduced by their Big Sisters: Maggie Falconer, Kay Cruise, and Nancy Sartor, in respective order. Additional new members are Claudia Booth (Big Sister: Deanna McCann), Mari Gomolla (Big Sister: Deb Fenton), Teresa Jenkins (Big Sister: Sally Drennen), Wendy Odell (Big Sister: Connie Culley), and Jennifer Waggoner (Big Sister: Marsha Camp).

We also had our first hole-in-one of 2024: Susan Sterling on Jan. 5 on SaddleBrooke hole number 2.

Our sponsors for January were Susan Pennington, Mobile Massage Therapy; First Inspection Pest Control; G&K’s Entryways, Decorative Glass, Doors and More; Westerner Products Shades and Screens; and Andy’s Irrigation: Turf Products, Irrigation, Outdoor Lighting. We are so fortunate to have such supportive partners, and we show our appreciation by patronizing the businesses that sponsor our organization.
