SaddleBrooke is in for a treat—a six-night run of The Curious Savage. Community Circle Players’ March dinner theatre comedy was written by award-winning playwright John Patrick of Three Coins in a Fountain and High Society fame. SaddleBrooke audiences enjoyed this heartwarming comedy 15 years ago and, no doubt, you will, too.

What’s the story line? The curious (eccentric) widow, Mrs. Savage, wants to give away her fortune. To make her come to her senses, her stepchildren commit her to The Cloisters, a sanatorium where you find all the action takes place. CCP Producer Tim Morsani is right when he says, “You’ll laugh a lot and, at times, you may get a bit misty.”

Over 30 SaddleBrooke residents are involved in the production, and in the director’s chair is CCP’s co-founder Susan Sterling. CCP veteran actress Connie Ward plays the crafty and kindhearted widow Ethel Savage. Filling the roles of her so-called normal Savage stepchildren are Jim Burke, Monica Gustafson, and Al Weigel. The Cloisters’ staff and psychiatric residents (including a compulsive liar, former military pilot, statistician, and seascape painter who has never seen the ocean) will be portrayed by Mark Albrecht, Fran Berman, Marilyn Ginther, Patty Gregory-Burke, Carol Henry, Karen Moore, and Jay Schweitzer.

An excellent cast, very good food, spaced seating, plus MountainView’s sound system and remodeled stage all ensure a wonderful evening. You can meet up with friends during intermission, even if seats next to each other are already sold.

Hurry and get tickets! They have been selling fast both online and in person.

Performance dates are Monday through Wednesday, March 14 through March 16, and Friday through Sunday, March 18 through March 20, on the MountainView Ballroom stage.

The Curious Savage tickets, $49 for dinner and entertainment, can be purchased in person at the SaddleBrooke TWO Administration Building.

To purchase online tickets, simply go to Tickets.SaddleBrookeTwo.com and select the MountainView venue.

A no-host bar begins at 5 p.m., and curtains for the three-act show with two intermissions open at 6 p.m.

See you there!
