Chronic Kidney Disease and Kidney Transplantation will be discussed by January guest speaker Dr. Amit Fadia on Monday, January 26 at 7:00 p.m.
On Monday, January 26 the Health Night Out team will welcome Dr. Amit Fadia, Nephrologist, to SaddleBrooke. Dr. Fadia will discuss frequency, classification, management and treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). He will explain how to prevent kidney failure and what to expect when kidney disease is progressing. His final topic of the evening will be kidney transplantation. Dr. Fadia will leave time at the end of his presentation for questions. If you would like to do some of your own research ahead of the talk, so that you can arrive ready with questions, you might want to read into nephrology and hypertension studies online.
Amit Fadia, M.D. is a board certified, fellowship trained, nephrologist who joined Arizona Kidney Disease and Hypertension Center (AKDHC) in 2007. Prior to joining AKDHC he practiced at Tucson Associates in Nephrology and at Renal Consultants of Wyoming Valley in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. AKDHC is the nation’s leading and largest group of private practice physicians specializing in the field of nephrology. They are considered experts in the treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), Acute Renal Failure (ARF), Kidney Transplantation and creating and maintaining accesses for dialysis therapies. Dr. Fadia sees patients at both their Northwest and Oro Valley locations as well as at their Tucson St. Mary’s location. He earned his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey. His additional training includes a fellowship in nephrology at Boston University – Boston Medical Center. He is currently an investigator for two phase three studies for novel and innovative treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease.
He is board certified from the American Board of Internal Medicine and from the American Board of Internal Medicine/Nephrology. Dr. Fadia’s current affiliations include Medical Director for Fresenius NW Tucson and Fresenius Mammoth dialysis facilities. He has also served as section head of Nephrology for both Northwest Medical Center and Oro Valley Hospital. His hospital affiliations include Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital, Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital, Carondelet Heart and Vascular Institute, HealthSouth Rehabilitation of Southern Arizona, Kindred Hospital, Northwest Medical Center, Oro Valley Hospital, Tucson Medical Center, University of Arizona Medical Center and University Physicians Healthcare Hospital, Kino Campus.
