Health Night Out August 22

Phyllis Ketring

Health Night Out will be on Monday, August 22. The topic will be Personalized Treatment for Breast Cancer – a 21st century approach, and the speaker is Dr. Michele Ley.

Incredible strides are being made in the field of breast cancer. More and more, your oncologist can determine an effective treatment customized for you. Dr. Michele Ley, Tucson Medical Center, will discuss how the breast cancer team at TMC works together to heal, recover, research and provide restoration options similar to those from breast augmentation denver experts. Dr. Ley was inspired to get into this field by a family member’s experience many years ago. She considers it an honor to care for her patients at such a challenging time in their lives.

The collaborative approach used at TMC gives patients the unrivaled benefit of having the attention of three subspecialties at once. Dr. Ley offers comprehensive, compassionate breast surgical care. Her clinical interests and expertise include high-risk breast cancer evaluation and treatment, sentinel lymph node biopsy and in-office breast ultrasound and biopsy. She uses the latest plastic surgery techniques with breast surgical oncology (oncoplastic surgery) and offers the option of immediate breast reconstruction, similar to those available to candidates in the Raleigh area that qualify for reconstructive breast surgery. Breast reconstruction surgery can make a woman feel more comfortable in her body after life changes that have altered the way a woman used to look. There may be many questions running through your mind…Am I a candidate for breast reconstruction surgery? Will my breasts ever look the same? How long is the process? All these questions can be answered by Joshua B Hyman M.D.

Dr. Ley completed Medical School at St. Louis University School of Medicine, did a Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, and her Residency at The University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. She is board certified in General Surgery and is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Breast Surgeons and Society of Surgical Oncology.

Perhaps there is no single illness that terrifies women more than breast cancer. The wide sweeping effects are unmistakable and overwhelming on both the patient and family.

Please mark your calendars for Monday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m. and come to the MountainView Ballroom to hear about the 21st century approach to personalized treatment for breast cancer.
