All of us hope to age gracefully and good vision is an important aspect of that. William J. Fishkind, MD, FACS will present an overview of common vision problems at Health Night Out on Monday, October 24. His presentation will cover macular degeneration, floaters, glaucoma, diabetes and cataracts.
Dr. Fishkind is a Clinical Professor at the Universities of Utah and Arizona and is a consultant of Fishkind, Bakewell, Maltzman and Hunter Eye Care and Surgery Center in Tucson, Arizona. He is board certified in internal medicine and ophthalmology.
He attained his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed an ophthalmology residency at a combined program of the USPHS Hospital and Louisiana State University in New Orleans.
His credentials are vast and impressive. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology and The American College of Surgeons and a past member of the program committee of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has been awarded the Senior Honor Award and Secretariat Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is president emeritus of the Outpatient Ophthalmology Surgery Society.
Presently Dr. Fishkind practices in Tucson and teaches nationally and internationally. He also has edited a textbook which will soon be published in its second edition and authored many articles and book chapters on phacoemulsification and intra-ocular lens implantation.
