The SaddleBrooke Health Fair celebrates its twentieth anniversary on Saturday, October 14, 9:00 am to noon, at the SaddleBrooke One Clubhouse. Parking is at MountainView with luxury coaches shuttling between MountainView and SaddleBrooke One. Shuttles run until 1:30 p.m. to allow time for lunch at the Roadrunner. Parking for golf carts and cars with handicap stickers is at SaddleBrooke One.

The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy will do free screenings for diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension.

The following immunizations and vaccines will be offered: Flu – standard, high dose, or quadrivalent; Pneumonia and pneumonia Prevnar 13® booster; Shingles vaccine; Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) booster

You will need an appointment for the shingles vaccine and the Tdap booster. Call Walgreens at 520-825-7747; ask for Stephanie or Rob. Check with your physician to learn if a vaccine is appropriate for you.

In addition to flu and pneumonia shots, HealthWaves offers lab and allergy tests for a reasonable price. Lab tests include complete blood count, prostate, hemoglobin, thyroid, rheumatoid arthritis, C-reactive protein and more. Tests are available for inhalant and food allergies. There will be mini-lectures at the Tennis Pavilion: 9:30 a.m. – Dr. Scott Sheftel on Detecting Skin Cancer; 10:15 a.m. – Dr. William Fishkind on Aging Eyes and Current Treatment; 11:00 a.m. – Dr. Hoang Thai, Breakthroughs in Cardiac Care

Many free tests include: Skin cancer screenings; Hearing tests; Testing for cataracts, glaucoma and other eye disease; Oral cancer screening; Ear wax removal; Blood pressure screening; Dexa Scan assessments for osteoporosis; Balance tests; Mini-massages; Vision tests; Fall Risk Assessments

Meet with representatives from acupuncture, assisted living, audiology, cardiology, chiropractic, dentistry, dermatology, ear, nose and throat, gastroenterology, gynecology, massage therapy, neurology, neurosurgery, nutrition, oncology, orthopedics, pain management, physical fitness, physical therapy, rehabilitation, surgery and vision. You will also find senior placement, hospice and in-home services at the fair. There will be financial, legal and insurance information available.
