Grief Recovery Seminars

Pat Huska

The GriefShare Ministry of Community Church at SaddleBrooke will hold two special grief support seminars for people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. We are sorry for your loss, and we want to come alongside you on this journey of grief.

Loss of a Spouse: Oct. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

At this time in your life, it probably seems like chaos and uncertainty rule the day. The passing of your spouse affects every area of your life. Household responsibilities increase, loneliness strikes, future dreams have to be changed, and everyday stresses seem even more annoying and overwhelming.

This seminar will offer helpful insights—practical advice from others who have been there, what to expect in the days to come, challenges surviving spouses face, and why it won’t always hurt so much.

Surviving the Holidays: Oct. 31 at 1:30 p.m.

Loss is always difficult, but during the holidays it can seem crushing. Whether you have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, if your loss is recent, or in the past, holidays can create fresh memories of loss and a renewed experience of pain and grief.

This seminar will help us learn about being prepared for surprising emotions that may hit; how to handle family traditions, holiday parties, and invitations; and how to survive awkward moments with others.

These seminars feature video interviews and advice from Christian grief counselors and a small group discussion to help us assimilate what we learn. We invite you to join us for these helpful seminars so that you will be better prepared to face the days to come with hope and a measure of peace and assurance.
