A love affair, a teenager in deadly trouble, a possible Nazi in hiding, and a battle to escape dementia—high drama at the Fountain!
Hello to SaddleBrooke from northern California. We miss all of our friends, especially those of you involved in The PrimeTime Players and The Senior Village.
This is to let you know about my latest novel, The Fountain of Youth. This past May, an Indy publisher back east (The Wild Rose Press) published The Fountain. Since then I’ve received numerous reviews including reviews in Kirkus Review, Midwest Book Reviews, Goodreads and others (see below). I also want to thank Marjorie Hermann, Ron Bechky and Stephanie Thomas for their nice reviews on Amazon.
The Fountain of Youth tells the story of a 75 year old retired neurosurgeon who makes the most out of life on the independent living floor of the Youth Fountain Senior Living Facility as he interacts, seriously and humorously, with the other residents including his highly neurotic sister, his neighbor’s beautiful girlfriend who he instantly falls in love with, and a possible Nazi in hiding. At the same time he befriends a dining room server suffering with severe mutism, a teenager in trouble with the local drug cartel and a young runaway girl who reminds him of a secret past.
All of this plays out as he battles the likelihood of dementia passed down from his mother and grandmother using his grandson’s sixth-grade quiz book to test himself and a locked away metal box containing a secret weapon that his sister plots to steal for herself.
