Educating Local Voters

Karla Trippe

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. To help educate local SaddleBrooke voters, the SaddleBrooke Democratic Club hosted a series of events this fall. The standing-room-only September meeting featured several local candidates, including:

• Kirsten Engel, candidate for Arizona CD6 House of Representatives

• John McLean, candidate for Arizona LD17 Senate

• Kevin Volk, candidate for Arizona LD17 House

• Patrick Melvin, candidate for Pinal County Sheriff

The October meeting presented a League of Women Voters speaker who took members through all the state propositions and outlined the reasoning behind their recommendations. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy.

The SaddleBrooke Democratic Club has prepared a Voter Information Guide that is available on the club’s website www.saddlebrookedemocrats.org Home page. Voters can use this guide to fill out and mail in their ballots. Early voting began Oct. 9, and all ballots must be mailed in by Oct. 29.

There will be no meeting in November or December.
