Dr. Jack Thompson’s Senior Olympic news

This past January, Dr. Jack Thompson of Desert Sun Drive arrived at the County Fairgrounds to compete once more in the Senior Olympics Festival in Tucson. He has competed in Senior Olympics shooting event since 1978, except for a few years when he was out of the country during the games. His unvoiced goal, mostly just to keep him competing, was to acquire a number of medals equal to his age. This year began with his total at 79, acquired primarily from clay bird shotgun events, but a few also from pistol competition. This year he was fortunate enough to pick up three more in trap and skeet events. This brought his grand total to 82, his current age. Jack says, “It’s probably time to hang it up. I guess we’ll find out next year!”
