Recent and Upcoming User Group Meetings

On Monday, April 18 we will have a guest speaker at SaddleBrooke Computer Club’s monthly User Group Meeting. Terry Stager will be speaking about home networks. If you have more than one computer, a smart TV, phones, tablets and other devices using Wi-Fi, you will want to attend this meeting. And you don’t even have to be a member of SBCC to attend. User Group Meetings are open to all SaddleBrooke residents. The meeting starts at 1:00 p.m., April 18 in the MountainView Ballroom West.

Last month Richard Spitzer spoke on How to Save, Find and Organize your Files on Windows 10. A replay of that presentation and several others is available on our website’s eLearn section. To get to the presentation, go to www.saddlebrookecc.org, hover over Enrollment in the top menu and select eLearn. You will have to log in with your SBCC membership credentials to access this section of the website. Once in you will be able to access any and all of the posted User Group replays and several online courses as well.

Spring Classes

It seems like we just opened up our spring classes for registration. But in reality this trimester will be winding down soon. There are still classes scheduled in March and a few in April. As a lot of our classes fill to capacity, you’ll have to get on the website to see what might still be open.

If you are not a member of SBCC, you may not know about our classroom. It is well equipped with PCs and Macs and a multitude of software titles that are taught by our all-volunteer staff. Members can register for as many classes as they wish during a calendar year.

If you are not yet a member, we invite you to join us. As a member you’ll have access to all our classroom courses and the eLearn section of our website. The nice thing about the online eLearn classes is that you can access them anytime from anywhere. So even if you are a snowbird that heads for cooler climes in the summer, you can still benefit from SBCC educational opportunities. For details on how to join, see www.saddlebrookecc.org/membership.html.

HOA 2 Arts and Crafts Center Refurbishing

This summer there will be some renovating going on in the HOA 2 Arts and Crafts Center and that includes the computer club classroom. It is anticipated that this will affect our ability to provide classes in the early part of the summer. But keep an eye on our website and watch your SBCC email announcements anyhow. We are considering providing some special interest discussion groups that we could hold in other venues throughout SaddleBrooke during this renovation period. Nothing has been finalized yet, either regarding the exact dates of the renovation work or alternative venues. As soon as we know more we will send out an announcement.
