On Souper Bowl Sunday, February 1, we combined our regular first Sunday of the month donations with a special Souper Bowl drive of canned soup to bless the Tri-Community Food Bank. Cynthia Chevalley, manager of the food bank, reported that the day was an overwhelming success and came at a time of real need. Our congregation donated a total of 1,812 cans of soup in addition to 158 pounds of other food items. This was a major contribution to the food bank and was very much appreciated.

In the spirit of the Souper Bowl, our congregation sported a colorful array of their various team jerseys and shirts. You can enjoy the festivity of the day by viewing Jerry Schudda’s photographs at communitychurchsaddlebrooke.com Since the Souper Bowl met such a vital need and the enthusiasm was so contagious, it will become an annual event and grow in generosity for the needy people of our area.

Team Pastor Steve Wilson, our very own NFL referee, brought a special challenge from the Word as he focused on commitment with his sermon God’s Game Plan for Life. It was a challenge that spoke to every heart. You will want to join us next year!

Community Church at SaddleBrooke meets every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the DesertView Theatre. Our dream is to become a community of grace that has room for you. If you do not have a church home, please come visit and feel free to wear your team colors.
