The Omni Tucson National Golf Resort was the setting for the recent spring retreat attended by the women of the Community Church at SaddleBrooke. Always a much anticipated annual event, this year’s retreat far exceeded expectations as Retreat Chair Joanne Fairweather welcomed the 135 women as they gathered at the Omni for a day of spiritual refreshment and fellowship.
Tricia Christenson, Women’s Ministry Director at Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos, California, was invited to speak at the event. Tricia, a sought after event speaker, has traveled extensively sharing her message at women’s retreats, seminars and workshops. The retreat theme One Heart – One Love – One Thing obviously spoke to the women as lively discussion followed Tricia’s presentation. Her remarks brought nods, tears, laughter and remembrances as the women enthusiastically related to Tricia’s message.
“Is this the most beautiful weather ever?” was heard over and over as the ladies enjoyed a delicious buffet served from the balcony on what turned out to be a picture perfect balmy spring day. Already, the ladies of CCSB are saying they are looking forward to next year’s retreat.
At the conclusion of the retreat Chair Joanne Fairweather expressed her appreciation for the day’s success saying, “It was a privilege to work with the Women’s Ministry team and ladies of CCSB to host this day to honor our Lord. The speaker brought a heartfelt message that many of the ladies will continue to ponder. We look forward to being together at a future event.”
CCSB is a nondenominational group of believers meeting at the DesertView Theatre every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome.
