Community Circle Players (CCP) just selected the cast for its March dinner theatre production, Don’t Drink the Water, by Woody Allen, presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
CCP held auditions January 7 and 8 under the leadership of director Shawne Cryderman and assistant director Judi Brauns. Both Shawne and Judi were delighted with the talent of the 26, including seven new to CCP, auditioning. Cast members chosen for Woody Allen’s witty show are Fr. Drobney, Tim Morsani; Mr. Kilroy, Ron Andrea; Axel Magee, Jay Schweitzer; Walter Hollander, Steve Rosen; Marion Hollander, Connie Ward; Susan Hollander, Monica Gustafson; Ambassador Magee, Tom Christian; Krojack, JP Blount; Chef, Anne Hammond; Miss Burns, Rory McGovern; Sultan of Bashir, Fred Lowy; Kasnar, Ed Drager and Countess Bordoni, Lydia Strickland.
This year’s comedy Don’t Drink the Water, which premiered on Broadway in 1966, centers around a family of tourists trapped somewhere behind the Iron Curtain in the 1960s. More a stage comedy than CCP’s previous mystery or interactive dinner shows, SaddleBrooke’s slightly updated presentation will be “in the round” with diners enjoying a delightful meal during the production. The hysterical dialogue and antics will have everyone laughing.
Because CCP’s past performances have sold out quickly, mark your calendars with both the ticket sale and production dates. Ticket sales began January 30. Only cash and checks are accepted at SaddleBrooke One; SaddleBrooke TWO will accept cash, checks and credit cards. Tickets are $49 which includes full plated dinner and a no host bar.
Purchase tickets at SaddleBrooke One for the performances on March 17, 18, 19 and 20 in SaddleBrooke One’s Vistas. Buy tickets at SaddleBrooke TWO’s administration building for the March 22, 23 and 24 performances held in SaddleBrooke TWO’s MountainView Ballroom.
Other details? Raffle tickets for Eve Fly’s landscape set paintings are sold at every performance, with the raffle held the night of the final performance. Susan Sterling and Carol Merlini are co-producing.
