Who are we? We seek, search, hunt, and walk back in time. Our goal is to stimulate the appreciation of antiques and encourage restoration and preservation of historic landmarks in our corner of the Sonoran Desert.
With our goal in mind, we ended our year last May with a trip to the Acadia Ranch in Oracle, owned by the Oracle Historical Society. Originally a boarding house and sheep ranch turned into a facility for “lungers,” the house is now a wealth of history of the local area and is well worth a visit. Lunch at the Oracle Patio was a nonstop conversation discussing all that we learned. Everyone was amazed at the wealth of history up the road in Oracle.
The Timewalkers meet once a month, October through May, either at a member’s home or on a field trip. This October we will be learning about the artwork the Santa Fe Railroad helped develop to promote the Southwest. At the end of our “journey,” you will be anxious to visit the Grand Canyon or one of the remaining Harvey Houses.
New members are always welcome. For information, contact Sandi Newberry at 520-818-0199 or Nancy Hysong at 520-825-1296.
