It was a beautiful day at the Tennis Center on Nov. 5! POP tennis players and tennis players alike experienced a perfect day on the courts to demo racquets and POP tennis paddles. Cheri Megli and Marco Navarro came for the 11th year in a row with their “store on wheels.” This event provides a great opportunity to buy tennis clothes, shoes, and accessories and to demo the latest in equipment. Our turnout was not as busy as in previous years, but those who did attend had a good time hitting, shopping, and socializing.
Thanks to our racquet professionals for donating their time on the courts. TJ Duffy and John Sochacki worked with Lon Federwitz. He brought approximately 13 POP tennis paddles to demo, along with paddles to purchase. Marco Navarro brought several tennis racquets from Tennis Cabana, and Gene McGeehan assisted him with players who were anxious to demo those racquets.
Our volunteers who unloaded and/or packed up all Tennis Cabana items were Anne Williams, Claudia Enea, Janet Fabio, Judy Gerber, Marje Valenti, Jane Zielske, Doug Wolf, Barry Emmons, Denise Phillips, MJ Quilling, Holly Rose, Maureen Walsh, JoAnn Bosworth, and Ritchel Duffy. Marie Kahng and Jill Duckett provided snacks, iced tea, lemonade, and margaritas to everyone. Our volunteers are invaluable and make events such as this a success.
