Amateur Radio Club Update

The SaddleBrooke Amateur Radio Club met on Oct. 11 at the MountainView clubhouse. The meeting program was given by Ed, (call sign) KI6R, showing a real-time Internet presentation of DX spotting, propagation logging, and prediction tools. Club members also gathered for a social breakfast on Oct. 19 at the Mesquite Grill of SaddleBrooke TWO.

Club membership has been conversing online via an email reflector service at QTH.net. Currently, 32 club members are staying in touch with this service. Contact one of the club officers if you would like to join the email reflector.

There was an amateur radio hamfest/swap meet at 7 a.m. on Nov. 12, sponsored by Oswegatchie Valley Amateur Radio Club (OVARC). The location was Marana Middle School at 11285 W. Grier Road in Marana.

The next club meeting will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the Sonoran conference room of the SaddleBrooke TWO MountainView clubhouse. The meeting program will be a discussion about amateur radio satellite operations, given by Frank Karnauskas, N1UW, VP of Development, Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation).
