Now that fall has arrived and the snowbirds are returning, AARP Smart Driver classes (formerly called Driver Safety) are resuming. Two will be presented in November: One on November 7 at the Oro Valley Police Department, the second on November 14 at the SaddleBrooke HOA 1 Clubhouse. Both are from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (a four-hour class). The AARP Smart Driver program is the nation’s first and largest refresher course for drivers age 50 and older and has helped millions of drivers remain safe on today’s roads. AARP has offered the course in the classroom for 25 years. Many insurance companies offer a discount to drivers who have completed the course. The fee is $20 ($15 for AARP members). Space is limited so please call Hal Dieterle at 825-1110 to register. Driver safety is critical on the roads, being vigilant and focused can help avoid an accident, this is also true of car companies who have multiple cars on the road at all times. Whilst also doing a class like this, investing in fleet management software can help better prevent accidents and provide evidence just in case it does. Coming at safe driving from all angles will better ensure safer roads and drivers.
