The ladies of Women On Our Own (WOOO) are busy year ‘round and summer is no exception.
Added to the weekly scheduled card games and dining events, this July offered a Day Trip to the Tucson Museum of Art with a delicious lunch at Cafe a La Cart. Also, a Pizza Party for the WOOO membership was organized by the WOOO Board at the Roadrunner Cafe at SaddleBrooke One.
Women On Our Own is an organization for SaddleBrooke women who are not in a committed relationship. Currently, our membership is 145 women who have lost a spouse or partner, or who have chosen to be single. Finding activities and events that offer support and friendship can be challenging at times and WOOO offers a wide variety of options to have fun: Bridge is offered two afternoons a month; Game Day is also offered two afternoons per month; Mexican Train is offered every Monday afternoon; Progressive Hand and Food is offered two evenings a month; Mah Jongh is offered two afternoons a month.
Dining events are offered one day each month: Ethnic Dining is held on Friday one day per month; First Saturday Happy Hour is a dining event held on the first Saturday of each month; Second Saturday is a dining event in or close to SaddleBrooke; Third Saturday is a dining event; Fourth Saturday is a potluck held at a WOOO member’s home who chooses a food and topic for after dinner discussion; Holiday Dinners are planned at a member’s home for those who do not have plans for that holiday; Wine Tasting events are planned at a member’s home who chooses the theme with matching appetizers.
Other events include Books and Breakfast, held at SaddleBrooke TWO on the fourth Saturday of each month; Day Trips are planned at various times and days; Movies are also selected by days and interest; WOOO Walkers meet during the cooler months and enjoy scenic walks and lunch.
