Did You Know—
SaddleBrooke Computer Club offers computer training to SaddleBrooke residents through four different outlets. If you are not a member of SaddleBrooke Computer Club, now is a good time to join so you can take advantage of all these opportunities.
Classroom Courses
SaddleBrooke Computer Club is a teaching club, staffed by volunteers with expertise in computers, software and related technical areas. Our primary venue for teaching is our classroom, equipped with PCs and Mac computers. Our class calendar is chocked full of courses on both Windows and Apple topics, too many to list here. For a complete listing, see our club website: www.saddlebrookecc.org and click on the Calendar link. Class size is limited, so some may be full. But others may still have openings. Go to the calendar to see what interests you. Then sign up on our website.
eLearn Center
In addition to our live classroom classes, we have several classes in the eLearn center of our website, where you can take online classes from anywhere at any time. Online classes include things like Computer Security, Photoshop Elements A & B and more. Video replays of some of our User Group meetings are also present. To access eLearn, go to our website at www.saddlebrookecc.org, hover over Enrollment and select eLearn. Most eLearn classes are restricted to club members only, but our Computer Security class is open to all SaddleBrooke residents as a community service.
User Group Meetings
These monthly meetings are open to all SaddleBrooke residents, club members and non-members alike. Meetings usually feature a speaker on a computer-related topic. Earlier this month, Francis Adams talked on Photo Editing. On April 18, Terry Stager will be talking about networking. In addition to the featured speaker, most meetings include a question and answer session with knowledgeable PC and/or Apple instructors. A prize drawing is held at the end of each meeting. Meetings are held at 1:00 p.m., usually on the third Monday of the month.
Technical Discussion Group
Steve Solberg is back in SaddleBrooke with his popular Tech Discussion Group. The topics vary widely and are generally a little more advanced than our other educational opportunities. This group meets in the MountainView Bistro-East Room at 7:30 a.m. every other Tuesday. You can partake in the informal technical discussions and breakfast at the same time. To learn more about this group, send an email to: [email protected] and Steve will put you on his email list.
How You Can Participate In All These Opportunities
While the User Group Meetings and one eLearn class are open to all SaddleBrooke residents, most of our offerings are reserved for members only. For details on how to become a member see: www.saddlebrookecc.org/membership.html. If you have questions about membership or how to sign up for a class, you may call our registrar, Alice Stuart, at 825-4239.
