Quote from Helen Keller: “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”
We encourage the caregiver to be physically and emotionally well by doing what will not only help to maintain their health, but will so much improve their attitude towards their loved one. So, please:
1. Breathe, sometimes many times is needed.
2. Nourish your body with healthy choices.
3. Sleep. Try to get six to eight hours of shuteye. Know that this can sometimes be very difficult.
4. Move your body. Do some exercise each day. While preparing a meal, jump or stretch as an example.
It is equally important to take a break. Take needed time away from your loved one. Ask someone to stay with them for an hour or two.
Our meetings will resume in September on the second Saturday of the month through May at the Arts & Crafts Center in SaddleBrooke One in Room 4 from 10 a.m. to noon.
We’re hoping to see you on Saturday, Sept. 13.
