Is It Time to Ask for Help?

Andrew McIntyre, Business Development Specialist at Oro Valley Hospital Behavioral Health

The next Health Night Out will be on Monday, July 22, at 7 p.m. in the DesertView Theatre. The speaker will be Andrew McIntyre of Oro Valley Hospital Behavioral Health.

The Tortolita and Catalina Mountains gently embrace a facility unknown to many people in this area. It is the behavioral program at Oro Valley Hospital. There you will find a 17-bed inpatient unit for adults with mental or behavioral challenges. Inpatient care is complemented by intensive outpatient treatment.

Health Night Out will explain the Behavioral Health program from the perspective of admissions. Andrew McIntyre is the Business Development Specialist at Oro Valley Hospital Behavioral Health, and he has committed the last 25 years of his life to working with local and national treatment centers.

When you understand admissions, you understand many things about behavioral health care.

• What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient treatment?

• How do you decide which kind of treatment is needed?

• How is Oro Valley different from other psychiatric hospitals?

• What diagnoses can be treated there?

• How can I find inpatient treatment for my loved one? Where do I start?

• What can someone expect in either inpatient or intensive outpatient care?

The continuum of care ranges from coping with grief, stress, anxiety, eating disorders, and depression to diagnoses such as schizophrenia and bipolar issues.

At July’s Health Night Out, Andrew McIntyre will discuss how to navigate the admissions process, what diagnoses can be treated, and what to expect from treatment. His career has helped treatment centers around the country develop and refine inpatient and outpatient programs. He brings that depth of experience to Oro Valley Hospital. McIntyre earned his B.S. in business management at the University of Phoenix and has dedicated his career to bringing awareness to the breakthrough work being done for patients in this challenging field.
