Dancers Rave About the Club

Dawn Di Leo

Each quarter the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club (SBLDC) offers lessons of various levels. Dancers without recent line dancing experience generally start with the first class, called the “Novice” class. The current Novice dancers completed their first class at the end of March, and their enthusiasm shows what makes the club so much fun!

Three dancers “graduating” from the Novice line dance class this week, Darlene Maxwell, Deanne Hyland, and Sandy Stettler, shared their experiences. All agreed that they:

• Loved the instructors,

• Enjoyed meeting other dancers in the class, and

• Are moving up to the next level class, Novice+, next quarter.

All three dancers also mentioned how the Line Dance Club website really helps them. Specifically, they found the dance “cue sheets,” instructional videos, and meticulously maintained calendar very useful.

Darlene added that she was very impressed by how well the club is run. “Everything is well organized, making it easy for dancers to access resources.” Deanna appreciated how “welcoming and nice everyone is,” and Sandy said she found the support and dedication of the volunteers running the club “outstanding.” She could not think of an organization with as strong a team at the helm.

Effective April 3, Debby Sullivan assumed the leadership role at our Novice workshop. Debby has been co-leading with Anne Romeo. Effective April 7, Anne assumed the leadership role at our Level 2 workshop and program.

At 200 members, the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club is still growing and has room for you. The current quarter’s lessons began in April, but you may join at any time. The dates, times, and locations of all lessons are posted under the Calendar section of our website at sbldc.weebly.com. We welcome you to take a trial lesson before joining. You may also contact Jane Sims, the vice president, at [email protected]. We hope to hear from you!
