Save the date for Thursday evening, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m. at the DesertView Performing Arts Center to meet the doctor who is leading the way in minimally invasive heart surgery. The Wellness Integrated Network of SaddleBrooke is proud to present Dr. Thomas Waggoner. He is not only leading the way in Tucson, but also in Arizona, the Southwest, the West Coast, the United States, and even the world. The Mayo Clinic sends him patients. He recently spoke to European doctors in Paris about what he is doing in Tucson.
Thomas E. Waggoner, DO, FACC, FSCAI, FSVM, RPVI, is a structural interventional cardiologist as well as a vascular specialist with Pima Heart & Vascular who specializes in coronary artery disease, heart valve disorders, and vascular disease. He is the medical director of the Structural Heart Disease program, program director for the new Structural Heart Disease Fellowship, and medical director of the Cardiovascular Research program at TMC. He is the principal investigator in multiple ongoing global clinical research studies, as well as a national physician proctor for many of the latest complex trans-catheter cardiac devices. He was selected as a young leader in Vision 2020 to lead in the field as a young interventional cardiologist.
Dr. Waggoner has performed many first-in-patient cardiac device implants in Southern Arizona and is a leading structural interventional cardiologist in the region. In many cases, Dr. Waggoner’s cutting-edge surgeries have been the first in Arizona, the Southwest, the West Coast, and even in the United States. He’s been speaking internationally about the work he’s doing in Tucson.
