Having fun at the Cadillac Chaparral
Our square dance club has a very full calendar the remainder of this year. Our regular club dance is Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. in the MountainView Ballroom. Our energetic and enthusiastic new class meets on Sundays at 7:00 p.m. in the MountainView Fitness Center. The class has completed all the main stream calls and is now learning plus calls. Practice dances for the new class members are held on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. The Tuesday practice dance is also for anyone wanting to get back to square dancing. Check our calendar for location of dances as they may change.
We had a great anniversary party to celebrate 20 years of square dancing in SaddleBrooke. More than 150 people were in attendance for this very special dinner/dance at the MountainView Ballroom. In addition to the delicious food and great dancing, the dancers laughed and laughed at the comedy skit about square dancing. What a wonderful way to spend an evening. Good food, great friends, lots of laughter and dancing and, better yet, great exercise. Life is good!
Many of our members went to Yuma February 13 to 15 for the Yuma Square Dance Festival. The national callers were great. The party seemed to be endless with plus workshops, main stream, plus and advanced square dancing. After dancing most of the day the party continued at the hotel until the wee hours of the morning, way past our SaddleBrooke midnight. It is easy to stay up partying when you are having a great time.
The partying continues. On February 19 we gathered at the Cadillac Chaparral for a green light red light dinner dance. We ate, exercised and continued to party after the dance was over. Square dancing is a lot more fun than exercising.
Next on our calendar was dancing at the Catalina Recreation Center on Thursday, February 26. Another dinner dance is planned for March 12 at the Oracle Inn. No time to get bored!
In addition to dancing at SaddleBrooke, we also dance at Sun City Vistoso. The Sundancers are sponsoring a special dance on Sunday, March 15 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. featuring Mike Sikorsky. Then again on Wednesday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. we will dance with caller Gary Shoemake with the Sundancers at Vistoso. The special dances are always well supported and enjoyed by our club. We love dancing with friends outside of SaddleBrooke. We love dancing!
