We were tracking Debra Finn’s ball all the way as it made its way into the hole on Tucson No. 8. Using her 9-iron and a Srixon ball, Deb hit a perfect shot to make the 118 yard ace! Congrats, Deb, for a memorable experience (witnessed by Ann Running and Kathy DeMerritt on March 6, 2014).

The Aces for the month of March are Stephanie Parks (low net 67) and Reenie Romey (low gross 86). These gals had a nice round and were the top finishers qualifying for the Ace of the Year tournament to be played in December.

Congratulations Kerry Crowell, the 2014 Club Champion! Co-chairs Jean Molitor and Adrienne Brown organized our three day event. First, second and third place winners in each of the six flights were Rose Flight: Sue Bush, Reenie Romey and Takeyo Eakin; Tulip Flight: Sandi Chester, Phyllis Sarrels and Jacquie Christiansen; Crocus Flight: Geri Sandilands, Margaret Falconer and Gail Fosmire; Daisy Flight: Venetia Lewis, Karen Wendlandt and Ret Convey; Daffodil Flight: Abbie Egolf, Shirley Samlaska and Barbara Starrett; Lilac Flight: Jeannette Eaton, Betty Michelsen and Melanie Neilson. The awards ceremony at the home of Jacquie and Roy Christiansen was delightful and we thank them for sharing their beautiful home.

The Ryder Cup! Congratulations, ladies, for playing so well and retaining the coveted trophy. We heard it was a lot of fun for everyone. An annual event with each team taking turns hosting the two day tournament was hosted by the ladies of the MountainView/Preserve Women’s Golf Association. SBWGA-18 co-captains Takeyo Eakin and Charley Johnson proudly accepted the trophy on behalf of all Ryder Cup players.

Upcoming events include Ace Days, Catalina Cup, LAGOS, Home & Home and Sadie Hawkins. As this article goes to print our big invitational event is taking place, the Quail Classic. News of this and more will appear in the next issue.
