Mark Wood does it again

Bob Edelblut

On Monday, January 25 Mark Wood recorded his second hole-in-one at the MountainView Golf Course. His first occurred in March of 2014 at The Preserve Golf Club and many of you may remember that Mark proudly admitted at that time that his first ever was made after his 80th birthday. We can only imagine the pleasure he is having chatting about number two! Congratulations again. By the way Mark, like several others this year, had his hole-in-one on the eighth hole at MountainView. He remembers that there was a slight southerly breeze helping his shot and that overall the weather was perfect. The pin was placed back left and he calculated the distance to be exactly 143 yards—just a smooth eight iron. The breeze must have been a factor because Mark was confident that the ball had “run out of gas” as it approached the hole. Guess again Mark, because number two is now history! Playing partners Fred Schneider, Jim Van Sistine and Jim Hardwick all confirmed that it really happened. Jim was also playing with Mark last March and witnessed number one and has earned the good luck charm title. Fred, we understand, complained loudly about how much the shot cost him. Great fun gentlemen, and do keep up the good times because Mark is very much looking forward to his next twenty years of golf in SaddleBrooke.
