The weather in February was sometimes frightful and sometimes delightful, but the SaddleBrooke Lady Niners managed to enjoy every bit of it! The festivities started on February 9 with our annual Across the Brooke Tournament, where the SaddleBrooke Lady Niners join their sisters from MountainView/Preserve Lady Niners. This year the MVP Lady Niners hosted the event which was a huge success. Not only was the weather ideal, but they had a game filled with lots of camaraderie and fun as well. After golf the ladies went to the MountainView Clubhouse for a delicious luncheon and prizes. A big congratulations goes out to the first place team of Susan Elliott, Marilyn Webb, Beth Effenberger and Ruth Larsen and a huge thank you to the MVP ladies for hosting such a lovely event!

And speaking of congratulations, an extra big congrats goes out to SaddleBrooke’s Vernie Tupa. Vernie scored her first hole-in-one on Sunday, February 7 on Tucson No. 8 using her Cobra 6 Hybrid. She was given a certificate from AWGA on February 23. Way to go, Vernie!

The SB Lady Niners are now gearing up for our club championship. We will be playing the tournament on March 8, 15 and 22 with the winner based on Low Gross for the three courses. Flight winners will be determined using Stableford scoring. This event will be followed in April with our Niners Invitational. This is always a terrific event with invitations going out to 32 different clubs from as far away as Phoenix and Green Valley. We already have responses so this year’s Life’s a Beach promises to have a large field of ladies. We always look forward to this event so we can meet ladies from lots of different clubs, enjoy the spring weather and have a chance at lots of good prizes.
