Our book for May 14 was A Replacement Life by Boris Fishman hosted by Ellie Adelman. This debut novel by a young Russian American author is about Russia and Russian-ness and America and American-ness, about the relationship between the generations, history, atonement, fact, fiction, biography, literature and the process of writing. It is deliciously smart, full of irony and sparked a great discussion.

This was the last meeting of a most interesting year; any suggestions for next year should be sent to Sandy Epstein. The Co-Ed Book Group would like to thank Sandy for all the time and effort she put in to make the group the success that it is.

It is never too late to pay your JFG membership dues and rejoin. Checks in the amount of $15 per person should be sent to Laurie Colen at 63845 E. Orangewood Lane.

We count on your support and encourage you to join our regular activities, which are solely intended to encourage and enable the extension of Jewish friendships throughout SaddleBrooke. Please feel free to make your suggestions known to Steve or Sy in the hopes that we can work together to enhance the nature and meaning of Jewish friendship in the future.

For further information about the JFG, please contact one of our Co-Presidents Steve Grabell at [email protected], 520-825-4159 or Sy Efron at [email protected], 520-825-7047.
