The future of orthopedic medicine may lie in minimally-invasive healing treatments rather than surgical interventions. The field of stem cells and regenerative medicine is young and rapidly evolving. The next Health Night Out speaker will explain stem cell therapy and clarify some common media misperceptions.

Dr. Jonathan Tait, Rejuv Medical Southwest, specializes in the field of regenerative medicine including stem cell therapy. This is a fairly new specialty that combines your body’s own healing potential with leading edge technology to treat pain, heal injuries and prevent chronic disease and disability. Regenerative procedures include platelet rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapy.

If you would like to learn more about some of the laboratory equipment used in the scientific study of stem cells, you can take a look at this evaporator.

Stem cell therapy is often effective for overuse injuries to joints or muscles, joint and spine arthritis, back pain, degenerative disc disease, bursitis and sports injuries. You may be a candidate if you live a diminished quality of life due to pain.

Dr. Tait received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Detroit, Michigan. Following his residency, he pursued a year of fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Pain Management with Rehabilitation Physicians, P.C. in Novi, Michigan and another year completing a Sports Medicine fellowship at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.

He is triple board-certified:

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by both the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine by the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Tait holds an academic appointment of Associate Research Faculty in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arizona, and is a consultant for the University of Arizona Athletics Department.

He is the President and Founder of Rejuv Medical Southwest in Oro Valley, Arizona which is a regional leader in Functional and Regenerative Medicine and the only practice in southwest Arizona to combine these progressive specialties to deliver revolutionary, non-surgical treatments for joint and spine pain.

Functional Medicine addresses the underlying reason(s) your body cannot heal, cannot overcome pain or develops disease and dysfunction with age. Testing may include food and environmental allergies and sensitivities, vitamin, mineral and micronutrient testing and gastrointestinal (GI) gut microbiome testing as well as genetic testing to determine your individual cell health and chemistry. This model is designed to optimize the systems of your body, rather than just treat the symptoms of your disease.

At Health Night Out, Monday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Tait will discuss the revolutionary new treatment of stem cell therapy for joint and spine pain and how this minimally-invasive, non-surgical treatment may change the treatment of orthopedic and spine conditions.

Are stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine all hype or does the field offer hope for people suffering from daily pain? Learn more at Health Night Out on Monday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the MountainView Ballroom. The Bistro will be open on Monday night with a healthy menu selection.
