Happy New Year and welcome to 2018! This time of year leads us all to reflect on the past and plan for the future. The SaddleBrooke Singers are no exception as we reminisce about previous shows and turn our thoughts to the spring program. Being a fairly new member of the group, I had no idea of the wide variety of music presented in earlier winter and spring productions. After paging through the SaddleBrooke Singer scrapbooks, I now appreciate the musical span that the group has presented to audiences.
It was eye opening to look at flyers from prior years. The spring shows included 50s Rock ‘N Roll, British Invasion, island songs, patriotic arrangements and music from movies. It was easy to see how each director put his/her own special touch on these themes. Over the years, the winter shows have included Holiday Classics, Christmas Around the World, and Holiday Favorites. From time honored ballads to upbeat audience favorites, every musical genre has been covered by the SaddleBrooke Singers group.
And now the holidays are over, New Year’s resolutions have been made and spring will be here before we know it. After closing out our winter season, the SaddleBrooke Singers have elected a 2018 slate of officers and began rehearsals in early January. Along with our Director Tanya Elias-Graf, we are already busy getting ready for the upcoming spring show. What’s in store for the April concert this year? We’re happy to announce that the SaddleBrooke Singers will be presenting an array of Broadway Show tunes.
So maybe you’ve been thinking about joining the Singers. Well, now is the perfect time as we begin our spring season. Our love of music is contagious and we welcome new members who share in that spirit. The SaddleBrooke Singers Organization is comprised of SaddleBrooke residents and has been presenting programs to the community for almost 25 years.
