Faith Health Alliance North (FHAN) is a group of organizations and individuals that seek to connect seniors in our area with resources that optimize their health. FHAN is offering a free workshop called Senior Housing Options, When More Help is Needed: Later –Life Transitions and Choices.
The workshop will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Santa Catalina Roman Catholic Church, 14380 N. Oracle Road in Catalina. Although there is no cost, registration is necessary. Call Judy at Santa Catalina CARE Ministry, 520-825-9611, ext. 104. Caregivers can also reserve respite care (By Your Side) at the time of registration.
The presenters include Mara Levin, MSW, Health Advocacy Coordinator at Interfaith Community Services (ICS), Sal Orlando, Medicare Benefits and Healthcare Solutions and Barbara McClure, Executive Director of IMPACT of Southern Arizona.
Topics will include the emotional aspects of making transitions, identifying services that may help you stay in your home, defining levels of care: independent, assisted and skilled and understanding and planning finances to support your decisions. There will be information tables with materials from Pima Council on Aging, SaddleBrooke Triad, Golder Ranch Fire District, Alzheimer’s Association, Oro Valley Hospital, ICS, Impact, Pinal Gila Senior Services and a Spiritual resource table.
Making these decisions is not easy. Get some information from people who have great resources and an understanding of how to assess your senior housing options.
