WOOO members Sheila Burke and Ruthe Burgener delight in their finds at Tiger Lily.

Who doesn’t love a great shopping trip? The ladies of WOOO (Women On Our Own) Day Trippers recently enjoyed a great spring day at the Mesa Market Place Swap Meet displaying every item imaginable. This marketplace is housed in four block-long, open-air tents that feature metal, rock, wood, and glass art; women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing and shoes; toys and bikes; and live performances by “Elvis” and other guitar entertainers. Food booths of hamburgers, hot dogs, onion rings, salads, sodas, water, wines, and beers allowed shoppers to enjoy a full day at this huge venue.
The WOOO ladies spent time at the Tiger Lily clothing shop taking advantage of our 30% discounts. Gloria Peterson was able to find a toy vendor selling one-inch plastic train locomotives used when playing Mexican Train back in SaddleBrooke.
Ladened with bags of treasures we could (or couldn’t) have lived without, the Day Trippers of WOOO traveled back home, enjoying lively conversations in our cars with smiles and laughter shared with friends, old and new.
If you are a single woman who is not in a committed relationship living in SaddleBrooke and are interested in learning more about or joining Women On Our Own, please contact our president Brenda McBride at 267-968-3894 or bmcb.ret@gmail.com. She will be more than happy to share with you the many activities and events enjoyed by our membership of over 180 women. Our dues are $10 per year.
