The Windy City Club held its sixth consecutive annual social event celebrating Saint Paddy’s Day on March 15. Club members and their guests enjoyed a fun evening of conversation, food, music, and dancing.
Once again, the SaddleBrooke One Roadrunner Grill provided a delicious buffet with corned beef, cabbage, kielbasa, and all the fixins, plus a make your own ice cream sundae treat bar.
New to this year’s event was the addition of music by the popular and locally renowned Chuck Moses. Chuck entertained the group with favorites from Neil Sedaka, Frank Sinatra, the Eagles, and many, many more along with the numerous requests from the audience. Of course, “My Kind of Town” and “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown” had everyone singing along. Based on the many guests who called out song requests, danced to the music, and listened until late into the evening, it was evident that a good time was had by all.
Many thanks go out to all who attended and helped make this a fun evening. Special thanks go out to the club officers: Maureen Van Dorn, club chair; Barb Wiwat, social chair; Margie Schulte, membership chair; and Cathe Kropp, treasurer; as well as Toni Coffey, 50/50 coordinator; who all worked hard supporting the club and collectively made this another great event.
Finally, we need to note that Barb Wiwat, the club’s social chairperson, will be retiring from club duties this month. All club officers and members would like to thank Barb for all her efforts over the last three years in volunteering, focusing diligently on the details, and successfully pulling together all the club’s social events year after year.
