What’s Happening with WOOO?

Dee Berisha

Are you a single woman in SaddleBrooke who is not in a committed relationship? Are you looking for things to do with other single women? You don’t have to look any further than WOOO (Women On Our Own).

WOOO has changed just a bit since it began back in the early 2000s. Briefly known as On Our Own, both men and women joined. But as time went on, On Our Own’s membership consisted of only single women and, thus, the name was changed to Women On Our Own. Life’s many journeys have as many stories as each WOOO member brings. And as our individual stories are shared, over time, we find wonder, awe, and commonality, thankful that we each have found this wonderful social organization.

The activities and events that WOOO offers to its membership are numerous, and depending on interests, our members are sure to find others who share such interests or who would like to learn about that activity. Here is the current list of events:

Dining: Wine tasting, 1st Saturday Happy Hour, 2nd Saturday Close-to-SB Dining, 3rd Saturday Dine-Around, 4th Saturday Member Potluck, Ethnic Dining, Holiday Dining

Games: Bridge, Progressive Hand and Foot, Mexican Train, Mah Jongg, Game Day

Activities: Book Club, WOOO Walkers, Pickleball, Day Trips

Carpooling: Carpooling is always available for events outside of SaddleBrooke.

If a member does not see an activity that they have an interest in, she is encouraged to send it out to the membership through our Communications coordinator to see if others of our over 140 members also share that interest. Rumor has it that a Bird Watching group is being formed.

So, if you are a single woman in SaddleBrooke who is not in a committed relationship, please consider calling or emailing our president Debbie Flato at 520-818-2904 or deblynne50@gmail.com to ask questions or to have a membership form sent to you. The WOOO membership fee is $10 per year.
