How many times have you said, “It sure is a small world”? Another perfect example of that fact relates to our own Golden Goose. During recent holiday travel and a flight delay in Chicago, some waiting passengers were talking. One lady looked at another and said, “You know, I think I recognize you. Where do you live?”
When she responded, “SaddleBrooke, Arizona,” the questioning lady said, “Oh, we visit there a couple of weeks every year and I just have to visit a thrift store, the Golden Goose. Are you familiar with it?” “Know of it,” she exclaimed, “I volunteer there in the clothing department,” which prompted the other lady to get out her phone, scroll through her photos and proudly say, “You probably sold me my favorite dress,” and showed her a picture wearing a beautiful red dress. So this just proves again how small the world is when a traveler from the East Coast meets a traveler from the West Coast and finds a common ground with our own “thrift shop that could,” the Golden Goose.
The Goose is open for shopping five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is open for donations six days a week (even during the construction period). Volunteers are needed and truly valued, so if there is an interest, orientation is the third Monday of each month. Please call 520-825-3101 if there are any questions. We look forward to seeing you at the newly expanded Golden Goose and thank you for your contributions and your business.
