Jane Gromelski
You’ve seen others dancing on the floor, now see how easy it is; come and learn the Texas-two-step and the Western waltz and experience a boot stomping good time! Our next set of Beginner’s classes will start Wednesday, March 2 in the MountainView Ballroom at 6:00 p.m. The series of six hour-long classes will continue through March and into April. The series costs $48 per couple. Western Dance is the easiest dance style to learn and classes are relaxed and fun. If you can walk, you can dance! Our students leave class smiling.
Dancing is good for the mind and the body; it keeps you young at heart. How many other sports allow you to hold your partner in your arms as you participate? We recommend smooth leather soled shoes or boots. Contact Jane to reserve a space in the class; information below.
Intermediate dance classes will start at 7:00 p.m. on March 2 in MountainView Ballroom and run for the same dates. The Intermediate series is the same price as the Beginners, $48 per couple. We will share our new steps as well as review the old steps. We will include a few Partner Pattern dances in these classes. They are fun, addictive and offer a change of pace for dancers. If you’ve seen our Intermediate dancers you know they have learned some intriguing patterns and have a lot of fun dancing them.
Our Partner Pattern Dance classes will continue on Thursdays through February, March and April. We will teach the easier Pattern dances at 6:00 p.m. and then at 6:45 p.m. we will teach the Intermediate level of Partner Pattern dances. These look intimidating but when we analyze the parts, they become very danceable. We want to spend a few weeks on each dance, then move on to the next Pattern dance. These classes will be $4 per person per class. Partner Pattern dances really add variety to our dancing fun. Classes will be held in the Mesquite Fitness Room.
Partners Western Dance Club, a separate entity, has scheduled dances in 2016. Our next dance, with Branded Duo, will be on February 19; we will have a buffet with chicken picata. Tickets for this dance are $25 for club members and $30 per person for non-club members.
On March 16 Branded Duo will play for us, no buffet, we will just have M&Ms to snack on. Our final scheduled dance, with buffet, is April 15 with Branded Duo. We always have a cash bar available to add to our dancing fun. Mark your calendar; you don’t want to miss any of these ground pounding, boot stomping good times.
Grab your partner, some friends and come join the growing number of Western dancers here in SaddleBrooke.
