There were no fish, but plenty of fish stories, at the recent SaddleBrooke Fly Fishers (SBFF) social. Forty-five members and their guests enjoyed good food, fellowship, and fun times.
Officially established in March 2020, the SBFF has now grown to a membership of over 70, despite COVID lockdowns. Members are now eager to socialize and hit the water together, both near and far, in the coming year.
Although the recent gathering was largely social, Nominating Committee Chair Larry Linderman announced the 2022 board slate. Dean Umemoto is the nominee for president, Clark Simonds for vice president, Karen Pearce for treasurer, Jerry Hollingsworth for secretary, and John Woolmington and Bary Sherman for members-at-large. John Woolmington is the only nominee who served on the initial board. Membership will vote on the slate at the club’s December meeting.
If you’ve ever wanted to try fly fishing, now’s the time. No experience or initial equipment is required. We have plenty of members who can help you get started. For more information, send an email to [email protected].
