Over hill, over dale, we will ship them through the mail! This summer, the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club organized a collection drive in support of our deployed army troops. The drive was in response to a request put to the community by a SaddleBrooke resident and mother of a deployed daughter for our troops in Kuwait. CPT (Captain) Munich had compiled a comprehensive list of items that “soldiers could really use.” They ran the gamut from toiletries, energy snacks, reading material, specific clothing and all products that are kind to sore muscles; especially for the feet! It was enlightening to realize that many of these hardworking soldiers prefer the protein from foods like tuna and beef jerky and boost from Vitamin C energy drinks to the empty calories of M&M’s and Skittles. In other words, think “nutrition” and save those sugary, homemade treats for special holidays!
The response from the SBLDC dancers was overwhelming! Hundreds of items and cartons of goods were contributed by members from all dance sessions of the club. If you would like to help show the brave men and women serving far from home that their sacrifices don’t go unnoticed, please contact Marcia Munich at [email protected].
Speaking of active feet, the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club dances six days a week. Choose your level of dance and come join in on the fun. We also have parties and luncheons – a good way to get to know fellow dancers. Our dues are only $10 a year.
