It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that the Sputters learned of the passing of our dear friend, Lorraine Ezell, on Sunday, August 27. Lorraine joined the Sputters following many active and fun seasons with the Lady Niners. From her first day as a Sputter she made us laugh and we were so grateful she decided to give up her golf career to join us! She was always willing to help wherever needed and served as a co-president for two years from 2015 to 2017. Monday mornings on the putting green will not be the same without Lorraine and we were blessed to have her with us. Rest in peace, dear friend, and we know you will be looking down and chuckling when we miss the short ones!
The Sputters’ very busy season came into full swing starting with a wonderful and delicious brunch in The Vistas following putting on Labor Day, Monday, September 4. Co-Presidents Lisa Lefebvre and Jeannine Laframbroise updated the members with important announcements as well as introduced a fun Who Am I? game where each Sputter anonymously wrote an “interesting and unknown” fact about themselves. While we have always known the Sputters were made up of an eclectic group of ladies with vast and varying lives, it was informative and loads of fun to learn something about life before SaddleBrooke.
Upcoming events include the annual tournament with the Lady Niners on Tuesday, October 24; the Thanksgiving Luncheon on Monday, November 6 that will include a fashion show sponsored by The Butterfly Boutique, a used, vintage and consignment shop with proceeds benefiting The Springboard Home for Young Ladies and our Holiday Luncheon on Monday, December 4.
A busy new year continues with our annual reciprocal tournaments with the MountainView Lady Putters and the SaddleBrooke Ranch Ranchettes.
