The Verde Sputters snowbirds have taken flight to escape our sunshine weather. Our desert Verde Sputters will bravely carry on until their return. For the month of June, Carolyn McLean and Donna Bujnovsky will greet you at sign-in, starting at 8 a.m. for the summer. Course set-up will be Jay Dunn and Sue Leasure setting the course up on the upper level so you won’t have to trudge up and down the slope, which means going around the course twice to make you dizzy. Stars given out in June were awarded to Connie Kotke 37 and Jay Dunn 39.
On May 27 (I know I said this was the June update, but we can’t forget these impressive ladies), 39 Sputters and three guests (Margaux Bigos, Gail Goode, and Kathie Garman) braved the hot sun to get a total of 22 holes-in-one. Led by Julie Long with four holes-in-one, Laurie Miller played catch-up with three, and Cathy Howard and Kathie Roberts each got two. Kathie got both her holes-in-one on the money holes, and Vicki Wermager won the other money hole. Way to go, Kathie! Our hole-in-one gals were Shari Caboor, Cathy Casler, Maggie DeBlock, Donna Gruninger, Mary Halverson, Dawn Hecht, Diane Hoedel, Marilynn Palatas, Hazel Roper, Mary Vandermast, and Vicki Wermager. The low score putters were Jan Haney and Hazel Roper with a score of 39, Opal Larkin 38, and Donna Gruninger 37.
A shout-out goes to Maggie DeBlock for taking donations from Verde Sputters to the Tri-Community Food Bank in Mammoth. We are so lucky to be able to give this small token.
On June 3, 33 Sputters, including one new member, braved the heat. Linda Lewis and Hazel Roper got the lowest score of 39. There were no money hole winners, so we saved some big bucks. Leading off with two holes-in-one were Lavonne Ashwood, Debbie Flato, Kathie Garman, Sandy Ripley, and Hazel Roper. Holes-in-one were made by Maggie DeBlock, Donna Bujnovsky, Jay Dunn, Pam Elvy, Jan Haney, Dawn Hecht, Opal Larkin, Linda Lewis, Jean Matheson, Donna Mcpherson, Laurie Miller, Shauna Rand, and Sue Spaniol.
On June 10, 34 charming Sputters came out to putt. There were 24 holes-in-one. Hazel Roper got the lowest score of 39. Donna McPherson and Mary Vandermast won the money holes. Cheers go out to our lucky ladies who got holes-in-one. Leading off with three holes-in-one were Donna McPherson and Mary Vandermast. Following with two holes-in-one were Diane Hoedel, Linda Lewis, and Laura Lewis. Also in the running with a hole-in-one were Kathie Bigos, Donna Bujnovsky, Jay Dunn, Debbie Flato, Ellane Jepson, Lee Kumo, Opal Larkin, Carolyn McLean, Sandy Ripley, Kathie Roberts, Karen Taylor, Marge Vandermuss, and Ann Villa.
When luncheons begin in the fall, there will be a sign-up sheet at the table on the Monday before the luncheon. All you’ll need to do is sign your name indicating you will be attending. If you can’t be at putting, you can email Jan Deer at [email protected] or Sue Leasure at [email protected] by noon on the Monday before the luncheon that you will be attending.
See ya there!
