Ho-ho-ho! What do we know? We know that the Verde Sputters is the place to be for SaddleBrooke women who want to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, have some fun, make new friends, and rack up some holes-in-one on the main putting green behind the SaddleBrooke One clubhouse. If you’re a homeowner or renter and are not a member of a sanctioned golf league, you’re welcome to join us anytime during the year.
In addition to putting every Monday morning, we gather nearly every month in Vistas for bruncheon or luncheon meetings. Before these events, members can buy raffle tickets and have a chance to win 50 percent of the proceeds. The other 50 percent is donated to a worthy nonprofit selected by the volunteers who organize the meal.
On Dec. 1 nearly 60 Sputters enjoyed a delicious entrée with dessert, holiday-themed games and table décor, and lots of goodwill for the season. The big winner was Carol Gurewitz! She not only took home $108 from the nonprofit raffle, she also won a free luncheon certificate for having a birthday in December. Last but not least, she was the big winner in Holiday Bingo. Congratulations, Carol!
In addition, the Verde Sputters were pleased to send a check for $108 from the raffle proceeds to SaddleBrooke Community Outreach.
During the winter months, check-in for putting starts at 9:30 a.m. unless there is a frost delay. Give us a try! You can putt one time with no obligation. Annual dues are just $48 and are prorated depending on the month you join. Contact Verde Sputters Membership Chair Lydia O’Connor at 507-421-5640 or Lh1017ger47@gmail.com for more information.
