Beautiful weather arrived on Feb. 6 for our Fun Day. It was a very challenging course with Bertha Butt and nine different stuffed animals, which we had to maneuver around to get the ball into the hole. Those animals left little room to maneuver, but 69 holes-in-one were made. Shout-out to Janet Knowles who outmaneuvered them to get four holes-in-one. There were four Sputters who had three holes-in-one: Cathy Howard, Judy Loritz, Jean Matheson, and Ellane Jepson. Quite an accomplishment for Ellane, as she was also dressed as a roadrunner. There were 15 Sputters who had two holes-in-one and four who had one hole-in-one.
There were 55 Sputters at the luncheon of pulled pork, coleslaw, and ice cream for dessert. Several of our dieters skipped the pork and opted for salad with chicken. Looking good there, Cathy Howard! The tables were decorated with an animal and Valentine’s Day theme, and each attendee were given a little animal that they can click onto a purse, backpack, or golf bag. The committee of Deborah Gryniewicz, Hazel Roper, and Linda Lewis challenged us with Fun Day trivia, and birthdays and marriages closest to Feb. 14. Jeanne Moehn’s birthday, Feb. 19, was closest and Jean Matheson was married on Feb. 19. Free lunch was won by Karen Taylor.
