Unit 3 South
July fourth is always a party day – so John and Barbara Fortino used the evening to invite everyone to their lovely backyard to celebrate Independence Day. About 45 people attended the ice cream social and neighbors brought cookies, red, white and blue cupcakes and chocolate fudge brownies. Hmmm – really good. The Fortino’s patio, next to the eighth hole on the Tucson golf links, had a great view of the HOA 1 fireworks to top off the evening and we had a chance to catch up on people’s travel plans, new pets and make new friendships. This is the essence of the July fourth holiday.
July fourth brings luck to some. The question is, however, who took home the extra leftover cookies and cupcakes? Hmmm?
Under the highly organized and effective chairwomanship of Diane Korn and her able volunteers, Unit 21 celebrated Independence Day with their sixth annual Pancake Breakfast in the Activity Center on Saturday, July 4. Pancakes, sausages, fruit, fortified orange and tomato juices and sparkling neighborly interactions launched the celebration of the day.
Fourth of July has always been a special celebration in Unit 49. It is a Meet Your Neighbor party, Independence Day party and Summer Pool party rolled into one mega excuse to have fun.
Angie and Alan Stein have generously opened their beautiful home and their swimming pool for this occasion. The decorations in red, white and blue by the Unit 49 social committee combine with the delicious variety of food brought by over 70 participants help make this party a big success.
