Thank You, Epic Racers, for Your Donations to TCFB
On Feb. 15-16 Epic Rides sponsored the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo bike race in the Sonoran Desert. This race has been held for 25 years and is one of the largest 24-hour team relay and solo rider mountain bike events in the world. Each lap of the course is 16 miles, with an elevation of 780 feet. The race began at noon on Feb. 15 and finished at noon on Feb. 16.
One of the requirements of participation in the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo race is that each racer is to bring a case of food for donation to the Tri-Community Food Bank (TCFB). The TCFB is thankful for the generous donations collected from the racers this year. A total of 252 milk crates of food were donated. The TCFB is also thankful for the volunteers from the SaddleBrooke Rotary who assisted food bank members load and unload the U-Haul truck and who helped sort the 252 milk crates for distribution to TCFB clients.
The Tri-Community Food Bank is an all-volunteer organization, spending zero funds on administration costs. The TCFB serves the communities of Oracle, San Manuel, Mammoth, Dudleyville, and Aravaipa. It is located at 108 W. Redwood Drive in Mammoth and is open five days a week (Monday through Thursday and Saturday) from 9 a.m. to noon. The TCFB is an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and an Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization (20463).

Bashas’—A Valued Partner of the Tri-Community Food Bank
Bashas’ grocery store in Catalina is very supportive of the Tri-Community Food Bank (TCFB) and its mission, “Feeding our neighbors in Southeast Pinal County.” Bashas’ has donated bakery items, such as bread, rolls, bagels, pies, cakes, cookies, etc., to TCFB for more than 10 years and provides space for a donation box that customers can donate food items at any time. TCFB is also a customer of Bashas’, ordering most of the food bank’s grocery pur

chases at a discount.
One of the challenges of the food bank is dealing with the large volume of cardboard that comes from unpacking food boxes and cartons. Bashas’ lets the food bank use the store’s compactor, and it recycles the large volume of cardboard—a huge help and savings for the TCFB.
The TCFB wishes to send a special thanks to Bashas’ store director Shawn Dorsey, bookkeeper Cindy Davis, and all other involved staff members for their assistance and support!
