A SaddleBrooke resident asked whether our swim workouts were fun, to which I replied, “Only when they’re over!” Note the word “work” in workout! But large numbers of swimmers continue to participate in workouts and clinics, develop and learn new skills, make great improvements in their swimming; many compete and then the fun begins and it’s party-time with people whom you have shared pool space and developed enduring friendships. The theme for our latest social was, “Margaritaville!” which most of you will probably recall was a big Jimmy Buffet hit in the ’70s. Party-goers dressed in tropical attire talked, laughed, ate, played games and thoroughly enjoyed an evening of fun. There were raffle prizes and a prize for “Best Costume” won by Glen Peterson for his colorful shirt and parrot hat! Many thanks to Diane Wagner and Co-Chair Leslie Kurywchak and the Social Committee for organizing this fun event!
