Time To Try Out Something New and Fun In SaddleBrooke

Karen Schickedanz

Are you looking for something brand new to try out in SaddleBrooke? If so, a new theatre group, Community Circle Players, is looking for you!

The group, a successor to PrimeTime Players, will hold auditions next month for its first play, a murder mystery dinner theatre production called Eat, Drink and Be Deadly that will be presented in SaddleBrooke in February.

Auditions will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, November 1 and 2, in the MountainView Ballroom West. Those auditioning should plan to come on both days. There also may be callbacks from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3 if needed.

“There are four major men’s roles and three major women’s roles, with minor roles for many others,” said Shawne Cryderman, Community Circle Players’ co-producer and director of the murder mystery. “We’d love to see as many people as possible try out, whether you’ve acted before or not. But it’s important to know that accurate memorization is a must, as is waiting for laugh lines and audience reaction.”

Once the cast is selected, rehearsals will be once or twice a week for a couple hours each time in November and December and then three or more times a week in January and February.

“We’re really excited about this new concept and being able to build on the legacy of Susan and Steve Shear, founders of PrimeTime Players, who brought first-rate, top-quality theatre to SaddleBrooke audiences for so many years,” said Susan Sterling, co-producer of Community Circle Players.

Both Shawne and Susan have been involved with PrimeTime Players and the SaddleBrooke Variety Show for several years as well as community theatre in other locales before moving to SaddleBrooke.

Eat, Drink and Be Deadly will be produced in HOA 2’s MountainView Ballroom on February 19 and 20 and in HOA 1’s Vistas Dining Room on February 26 and 27. The $49 per person ticket price will include a full dinner, with tickets going on sale in mid-November at the administrative offices of each HOA.

In addition to actors, Community Circle Players also is looking for help with costumes, sets, props and public relations and advertising.
